Utility Partners Offers Wireless Data Analysis Services Tampa, FL - (August 3, 2001) - Utility Partners, Inc. (UP), the leading provider of mobile workforce management solutions, today announced that it is offering Wireless Data Analysis Services to the utility, public safety, and other industries that depend on the reliability of their mobile dispatch solutions. The new services, which include coverage studies, coverage map creation, site studies, and installation assistance, were created to help clients select wireless solutions tailored to their business needs and to ensure optimal performance of Utility Partners' MobileUP™ system. UP's Wireless Services are currently available in North America only, but the company intends to expand the services to Latin America by 2003. UP's debut of its Wireless Services follows on the heels of a successful pilot study commissioned by Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. (Con Edison). The utility, which provides electric, gas and steam service to more than three million customers in New York City and Westchester County, New York, was in the process of evaluating two telecommunications firms competing to provide wireless service for MobileUP, Con Edison's new mobile dispatch system for gas emergency response. Con Edison hired Utility Partners to perform coverage studies to determine which of the two wireless companies provided the most consistent coverage and signal strength over their 600 square mile service area. "Utility Partners' coverage testing took the guess work out of choosing the best wireless network and identified areas of our service territory that needed broader coverage. Armed with this information we were able to successfully negotiate with the service provider for targeted coverage improvements as part of the service contract," said Wendell Little, Communications Engineer at Con Edison.
