What's UP - Press Releases
Utility Partners Announces Planned Release of Work Resource
Planning (WRP) Version 6
TAMPA, FL – (Feb. 2, 2001) - Utility Partners, Inc. today announced a planned second quarter release of Version 6 of its Work Resource Planning (WRP)
applications for the distribution enterprise. The latest version of the WRP Product Suite provides additional functionality never before available for the initiation and management of complex work. The new product suite's
capabilities seamlessly integrate work, outage, and resource management, work order scheduling, mobile data automation and management, and data mining. The WRP Product Suite Version 6 includes the popular MobileUP, as well as
WorkUP, TroubleUP, PlanUP, FlexUP, and AnalyzeUP. Utility Partners is announcing the Version 6 release in advance of the February 4 – 7 DistribuTECH conference in San Diego, during which key features of the new product
suite will be presented.
WRP Version 6's new features enable clients to customize templates specific to their work types and facilities and perform complex work tasks involving multiple
days, one or more dependent units of work, and specific components of individual facilities. Tim Reed, Utility Partners' CEO, explains that WRP Version 6 "is the first truly integrated work, outage, resource, and
mobile management suite available that recognizes no organizational boundaries. We're proud to be the only company offering a technology solution that finally breaks down the resource and work barriers between
departments."
Bob Letzeisen, Utility Partners' Vice President of Sales, points out that the new product suite, which is modifiable by design, allows utilities to quickly
respond to new regulatory requirements, executive directives, changes in union contracts, and customer expectations for services. WorkUP, for example, "is not a technology looking for a problem," Letzeisen
explains. "It's an enabling data structure that provides a fluid transformation of one of the most critical cost centers inside of the utility." For customers grappling with ever-changing compliance
requirements, WorkUP's facilities database module lets users modify characteristics of the assets and automatically generate work based on a facility's frequency requirements.
Las Vegas-based Southwest Gas has beta-tested the new enhancements to the WRP suite. Dudley Sondeno, Southwest Gas' Senior Vice President, Chief Knowledge
and Technology Officer, reports that his company has "enjoyed great success using MobileUP for our customer work. We're excited about deploying the new WRP solution, which will also handle our code compliance,
scheduling and tracking."
