What's UP - Press Releases FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Utility Partners Showcases Product Enhancements and Additions at its TAMPA, FL – (May 11, 2000) – Utility Partners, Inc. presented a host of new product offerings at its 5th Annual Customer Conference held May 7 – 10, 2000 at the Radisson Suite Resort in Sand Key, Florida, according to Ed Krufka, Utility Partners' Vice-President of Marketing, Sales Support, and Product Management. This conference was also the first time where UP's GasConnect software clients participated in a joint meeting with the company's mobile data clients. Separate tracks were offered for gas management users reflecting the increasing importance of UP's GasConnect PRIME and PLUS web-based systems. Utility Partners showcased the upcoming version 6.0 of its Inspections and Maintenance module for the MobileUP system. Version 6.0 is a unique approach in the utility industry that combines key elements of mobile data and work management to produce a revolutionary new way to manage field resources, maintain assets, and serve customers: the Mobile Work Suite. UP demonstrated numerous new products as part of the overall suite. These included: U'Pro, used for cost estimation and work optimization of construction projects; Data Analyzer, for analyzing work-related information stored in the Mobile Work Suite; Palm Pilot/Windows CE device support, which enables service supervisors and technicians to view/collect data and access the Internet from the field; and "MR. Field," which supports integrated processing of meter reads and simple service orders, using Itron or DAP hand-held terminals. Additional enhancements to the MobileUP product were also introduced, including dynamic field routing, GPS/AVL capability, and a Training/Tracker system designed especially for utilities to monitor operator qualifications to perform field work. Over 75 UP customer personnel in attendance were enthusiastic about the conference proceedings as well as the direction of the company's products: "The diversity of the session tracks allowed our group to learn much more about UP's products, processes, and directions," said Rick Reid of Montana-Dakota Utilities.
